OLPCC Alumni Association: A Partner in Community Service
"Life becomes meaningful when we serve others"
Truly, service is the essence of living a significant life. The Our lady of the Pillar College – Cauayan hits fifty remarkable years of existence.
The jubilee celebration marks a big step towards progress. The institution has become the pillar of service to the society. Its existence opens new opportunities to graduates as future leaders who have deep commitment to serve others.
OLPCC’s Alumni Association operates exclusively for the purpose of providing support and assistance to its alma mater in carrying out the vision and mission of the College. The members of the alumni association participate in the recruitment and retention of students; promote good public/community relations; and promote greater contact and communication between alumni/ae and the College community.
The OLPCCAA links students, families, friends to College and to each other through a variety of experiences, usually featuring alumni programs and community projects. With these activities, it promotes the interest of OLPCC as a standard of academic excellence by strengthening the ties of goodwill and communication between the institute and its students and by maintaining programs to serve their needs. Getting involved with the community as one aspect of meaningful service creates a special bonding between the institution and its alumni.
As OLPCC is beaming with its 50th anniversary goes with its commendations to its products- the recognition to the outstanding alumni. Thirteen promising alumni had been awarded as outstanding alumni for the jubilee year. Each alumnus has been given recognition for their service and dedication by making great contributions to society. The awarded alumni come from the sectors of education, business, NGO, religious and public leaders.
The institution has established an emblem of committed leadership and deep concern to the community. Without these virtues, service to mankind will exist only in our minds. The OLPCCAA is a manifestation of extending services to others. This organization is a stronghold to reach out to those who are less fortunate and in dire need of physical and moral assistance. This organization functions independently as it looks for better social relations and continue to help improve the quality of life to those who have limited opportunities and privileges.
The OLPCCAA is a venue of information regarding status of alumni, programs and projects, fund raising campaigns and other school-community events. Alumni fellowship fosters interest to arrive at a unified flow of organization plan. Every year, members of OLPCAA hold an alumni homecoming and at the same time integrate an annual meeting so they can formulate future goals. With all of its accomplishments, OLPCC will be of service to every individual and continue to strengthen OLPCC’s legacy, of rendering service to community it is a part of and reaching out to create a global impact.
