The College of Hospitality and Management (CHRM) proved their power once again as they grabbed the championship award for the Cookfest competition held on August 3 at the Our Lady of the Pillar College – Cauayan gymnasium as part of the Nutrition Month celebration themed “Kumain ng Wasto at Maging Aktibo. Push Natin ‘To!”. Their winning dish created from the junk foods turned into a nutritious food was named Banana-Chocolate Con Fruta.

Michelle Maneja and Jill Dugo (HM1) were the students who made the dish. “We practiced it with my partner by the help of our dean, one day before the competition”, Maneja said when asked about their preparation. Their strategies, according to Dugo was, “Quick yet careful. In competition you shouldn’t be in hurry nor get rattled. Stay calm and work peacefully with love.” Both students expressed gratitude to their dean who helped them get the crown for the competition.

The College of Nursing and Midwifery (CNM) department dominated in the different contested activities as they bagged the championships for the Fruits and Vegetable Arrangement competition, Quiz Bee category, Slogan-making and Essay writing – Filipino. Meanwhile, TELA department reigned in the Essay writing – English and CITE department secured the first place for the Poster-making category.
