Caesar S. Dy, JR. (Cauayan City Mayor) shares his thoughts and wisdom on people living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (PLHIV) to alleviate inequality and discrimination.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pillaricans actively engaged in the World Aids Day celebration with the theme: \u201cPutting ourselves to the test: Achieving equity to end HIV.\u201d held at Cinema 2, SM Cauayan City, Isabela, December 1, 2022. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In partnership with the City Health Office of Cauayan City, Isabela, the celebration commenced with a brief discussion about HIV\/AIDS by the HIV Coordinator, Ms. Delia T. Gonzalvo, RN. &nbsp;Pillaricans actively listened and participated in the series of interactive lectures and discussions by various speakers who shared knowledge and experiences in creating awareness about people living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (PLHIV), its transmission, diagnostic testing, preventive measures, and treatment options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As to what Ian James M. Balauag said, \u201cThe stigma of labeling an HIV-positive individual as a part of a group is something that is socially unacceptable and has to stop.\u201d This quote summarized the purpose of the celebration which was to educate and break the stigma in today&#8217;s generation.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Youth from various schools and campuses also participated in the traditional and digital poster-making contests where they showcased their gifts in arts by reflecting on the mission of the said celebration.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Trishalyn S.
