IF YOU FALL, I WILL BE THERE: Samantha Delmo and Kjell Malvar (CNM) dominate the AVR as they perform their winning moves for the Latin Category.

Eleven pairs of dancers from the different Departments gracefully amazed the audience and the folks as they performed the Latin and standard ballroom dances with their pleasing ensemble moves on the first day of GALAW Pillaricans held at the AVR, October 22.

The Contenders in each department flexed their moves to vied the title. The Team College of Nursing and Midwifery (CNM) claimed the title in the Latin Category and the College of Accountancy (COA) in the Standard Category.

For the Latin Category, Samantha Delmo and Kjell Malvar (CNM) won as champions, followed by Jezzabel Edralin and Kenneth Lugto (CEDITE) as 1st runner-up, and Jaira Mae C. Garcia and Marc Jhon M. Lagutao (CRIM) as 2nd runner-up.  Jemaluz R. Villanueva and Rico John M. Lopez bagged the title for the Standard Category, followed by Jessabel Edralin and Ronald Pancho as 1st runner-up, and Anna Daquioag and Lonard Valdez as 2nd runner-up.

“So when I found out that there will be a Dancesport competition at the sports fest, I was very happy because after two years I will experience competing again. And it happened, and the winners had already been announced, but nothing is new because I believe whether you win or lose, it’s always considered as an achievement and still fulfilling.”, Jemaluz R. Villanueva (Champion, standard category) shared.

The judges who judged the competing teams were experts in the arts of dancing namely Maria Christina Santos, Billy Joe Paguirigan, and Mark John Domingo.
