BAGGAO, CAGAYAN – Junior and Senior High School students of Our Lady of the Pillar College-Cauayan, Inc. joined the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) Region 2 Sports and Socio-Cultural Competition held at St. Joseph College from March 7-9.

With the theme, “Harmony in Diversity: Celebrating Unity through Sports and Culture in the Spirit of Synodality”, the Teen PillariCANs, under the guidance of Mr. Orlino C. Pataueg, Overall Sports Coordinator, Kristel Joy A. Yra, JHS Sports Coordinator, and Jaylord P. Concepcion, SHS Sports Coordinator, showcased their enthusiasm for sports as they competed with 11 other schools from the region in events such as Badminton, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Basketball.

As the event concluded, the JHS Teen PillariCANs bagged medals during the awarding ceremony. The Volley belles, including Kimberly Airhyne B. Fillon, Angela Gwen R. Gauiran, Akeisha Eanndhe M. Dela Cruz, Sherry Mae M. Talosig, and Martee Angeli B. Balanay, fought hard for the championship but settled for the silver medal. On the other hand, the men’s Volleyball team members Reymiel A. Capuchino, Reymund A. Capuchino, Bob Ryan B. Borja, and John Christopher A. Alcayro brought home the bronze medal. The Badminton team, consisting of Justine Paul Garcia and Jenn Hannah Leigh P. Labrador, did not disappoint as they clinched the bronze medal, while the Table Tennis team, composed of Clyde Gabriel A. Lagazo, Klein Jannel B. Alvarado, and Klyde Roderick G. Atienza, finished in 5th place.

Despite only participating in four team events, the Teen PillariCANs finished at rank 6, once again showcasing their extraordinary sporty capabilities that are comparable to those of the regional players.
