Students from Grade 8 of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, Saint Mark the Evangelist, and Saint Matthew the Evangelist came together to celebrate and honor the patron saints of their respective sections at Our Lady of the Pillar College-Cauayan, Inc. Junior High School department last January 17.
The event began with an enlightening video presentation prepared by the dedicated advisers, Mary Jane B. Cuntapay, Jenrick Kyle P. Badua, and Joanna Grace M. Roles, which introduced the students to the lives and virtues of these beloved saints.
In addition to the festivities, the students demonstrated their commitment to service by providing financial support to the school’s adopted community through their contribution. This initiative reflects the school’s mission to instill a sense of social responsibility and compassion in its students.
To further engage the students, the advisers organized a series of exciting games inspired by the popular Korean series, Squid Game. The students were divided into six spirited teams, each with a unique name: Team Mambling, Team Maray, Team Magirgir, Team Makki, Team Mang, and Team Mayab.
After a day filled with fun and friendly competition, the top three teams emerged: Team Magirgir secured 2nd place, while Team Makki claimed the 1st place title, and Team Mang celebrated as the overall champion.
The celebration concluded with a shared lunch, where students, teachers and the school principal gathered to enjoy a meal together, fostering camaraderie and strengthening their bonds.
This event not only united the students but also beautifully blended education, competition, and teamwork, all while embodying the spirit of our Catholic community and commitment to service.
