Fourteen clubs and organizations, along with their advisers, took their oath of office during the Oath-taking and Mass Induction at the Our Lady of the Pillar College- Cauayan on June 27.
Rev. Fr. Vener C. Ceperez officiated the Holy Eucharist and inducted the newly elected officers as they solemnly pledge to be good leaders.
Pio Salvador, the Chairman of the SSC Elections, presented the new set of Supreme Student Council (SSC) officers. Nazrene Genesis Villoso was the elected president, Vizha Joyce Dy as the vice president, Pamela Parallag as the secretary, Mika Ella Ballesteros as the treasurer, Wilson Simeon, Jr., the auditor, Junegen Elarde and Xinghang Gonzales as the PIOs, Cherilyn Aquino and Jewelyn Kristel Delos Santos as the business managers, and Francis Melvin Manzano, Jaypaul Balmores, Razelyn Lata, Justie Olata and John Myco Dela Cruz as marshalls.
The following organizations also presented their new sets of officers: College of Accountancy and Business Administration, Teacher Education and Liberal Arts, College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, College of Criminology, College of Nursing and Midwifery, College of Engineering and Technology, The Pillar’s Voice, JFINEX, JMA, JPIA, HECO, ACES, Genesis and BEMAS.
In an interview with Nazrene Villoso, he encouraged his fellow students to always practice the Pillarican values and brand of excellence. He also expressed his desires to implement programs and activities that cater to students, environment and community extension.
“I want to strengthen the plastic-free policy of our school. I also want to conduct a tree planting activity within the school and of course our adopted barangay to minimize the effects of global warming. I also want to conduct an outreach program in Luna, Isabela aside from Casalatan because most children in barangay Macugay are malnourished”.
At the end of the interview, Villoso asked his fellow Pillaricans to be united and help each other to become transformed Christian individuals.
